Description

Woody's specialty stud is designed for single ply tracks. It has a 1.200" diameter head, 5/16" shank and a 60 degree carbide tip. Includes square backer support plates. The 1.075" size comes with standard nuts and the 1.325" size comes with Woodys Big Nuts (additional $7). Recommended torque of 20 ft-lbs.

Note on studs for single ply tracks: OEMs and track manufacturers do not make any recommendations regarding suitable studs for single ply tracks. These tracks are 0.020 inch thinner than two ply tracks, or about the thickness of two business cards. We have found that the problem may be more related to oversize shoulder, as opposed to head diameter. In our opinion, standard push through studs without shanks and with relatively thin head thickness offer good performance with minimum risk of pull through for single ply track applications. Woodys and other brand studs that have a shoulder can cause problems in single ply tracks because of the need for a larger hole and insufficient belt compression. Also , a heavier head thickness works against the benefits of a thinner track. Therefore, Woodys and others have developed a modified stud with larger head and backer to adapt to a single ply track.
